Rec / Intermediate Division
For mixed-skill teams, newer players, or groups playing for fun without a high-level competitive focus.
Competitive Division
For experienced players or teams that regularly play together in leagues or tournaments and are looking for a higher level of competition.
If more than half of your team can consistently perform skills such as overhand serving, spot serving, jump serving, topspin serving, and attacking the ball with control and power in front of the 10-foot line, your team should likely be competing in the Competitive division rather than Rec/Intermediate.
To keep the tournament fair for everyone, teams that are clearly playing below their skill level may be moved divisions or removed from the tournament at the discretion of the tournament director, and could be required to forfeit their matches.
